Centre plans to build modern cold storage in Paradip

Dharmendra Pradhan- cold storageUnion Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced the Centre’s plan to build a modern cold storage in Odisha’s Paradip port. He said it will help to export farm produce and the agriculture produces will become safe in cold storage.

Only 28 out of 108 cold storage in Odisha are properly functioning. Lack of cold storage has emerged as a major problem for the farmers, who are facing problems. Dharmendra Pradhan said this at a function held at the National Rice Research Institute (NRRI) in Cuttack.

Further Pradhan said that the Petroleum Ministry aimed at setting up more cold storage at Paradip so that it will help farmers to do safe storage of agriculture produces.

Pradhan said if the state government sends proposals in this regard, he will discuss the matter with the ministry concerned and try to get the work done.
