Chariot Climbing: Puri Temple Administration lodges FIR against 3

Puri, Aug 18: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration today filed an FIR against three persons in connection with the climbing of a woman atop Nandighosh chariot during Rath Yatra.

It is noteworthy, that a woman was climbed atop the chariot of Lord Jagannath during Rath Yatra, and  the issue was created much uproar after the video was shown on electronic media. The temple administration has been investigating into the matter.

The lady devotee, who climbed the chariot, was identified as Padmini Patra. And, the administration also identified the other two, who reportedly helped her to climb the chariot, as Jagannath Swain Mahapatra, Badagrahi of Lord Jagannath and temple servitor Artatrana Pratihari.

Considering the violation of High Court’s directive of no access to chariots for people, the temple administration filed FIR with Kumbharpada police station against these three people.
