Chief Secretary & Senior Officials Review Mahanadi Riverine Port Site

A high-level team from Odisha Government led by Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy along with  V.K. Pandian, Secretary, 5T and Manoj Mishra, Special Secretary, Commerce & Transport visited the proposed Mahanadi Riverine Port site. 

The officials travelled to the proposed site on a Paradip Port Trust vessel along with PPT Chairman, Rinkesh Roy.

MLA Mahakalapada Atanu Sabyaschi Nayak was present at the proposed Mahanadi Riverine Port Site and had discussion with officials. 

Earlier, the Ministry of Port had agreed to the Odisha’s proposal for the Riverine Port to be developed by PPT. A formal MoU with the State Govt. is under finalisation. 

The Port will come up at Akhadasali village under Mahakalapada Block in Kendrapara district.

The all- weather and multi-user Port will be set up in PPP mode with a capacity of 54 MTPA. The estimated cost of the project is Rs.4,062 Cr. In the first phase, 22 MTPA capacity will be created at a cost of RS. 2,562 Cr.
