Chief Secy holds 1st Meeting of Tourism Advisory CommitteeBhubaneswar, June 6: The 1st meeting of the Tourism Advisory Committee (TAC) formed under Tourism Policy 2013 was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Odisha on June 5, 2015.

The objective of the meeting was to discuss matters relating to devise tourism development road map, bring a synergy among other line Departments and suggest strategy of action to be undertaken for Odisha Tourism Department.

The Committee suggested to expedite speedy implementation of Light & Sound Show at Dhauli, Khandagiri-Udayagiri and Konark; Preparation of Draft Project Report on Coastal Circuit under SWADESH DARSHAN Scheme of Government of India; Explore connectivity to Gaya and Varanasi; identify land for eco-tourism destinations; formation of a committee under the Chairmanship of Principal Secretary, Home with DG Police; Secretary SC & ST Department; Secretary Tourism to review possible relaxation for visit of foreigners to PVTGs and focusing Shamuka as a pilot project for Odisha Tourism. The suggestion of the TAC will be put up to the State Tourism Promotion Council headed by Hon’ble Chief Minister.

The meeting was attended by Shri U. N. Behera, Development Commissioner; Shri R. Balakrishnan, ACS Finance; Shri S. S. Srivastav, PCCF (Wildlife), Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee, Secretary Tourism; Shri Lalit Kumar Das, Special Secretary Home, Shri Anil Kumar Samal, Director Tourism; Shri Debi Dutta Biswal; Special Secretary, Forest & Env. Department; Shri Harihar Patra, Toshali Group; Shri J. K. Mohanty, Chairman HRAO; Shri Sudarsan Patnaik, International Sand Artist and other officials.
