Chit fund Scam: CBI raids Seashore Official’s Residence

A 10-member CBI team on Wednesday raided Seashore group’s divisional head Pradip Samantaray’s residence at Bali Sahi village of Niali block in Cuttack district in connection to multi-crore chit fund scam across Odisha.

Samantaray, who was looking after the transportation operations of Seashore group, is allegedly charged in criminal conspiracy and financial irregularities.

The CBI, in course of its investigation, had come to know that financial transaction over crores of rupees was made through Samantaray during his stint of which a major amount was also given to some influential persons.

Besides, several people had invested money in the Seashore Group through him. The CBI officials seized bank accounts, land documents, money receipts and cash from his house during today’s raid.
