Civil Society Groups protest at Endowment Commissioner Office

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: The members of Civil Society Groups protested here on Wednesday demanding inquiry into huge irregularities, corruption and mismanagement at Nrusinghanath Jew Matha of Jagatsinghpur district. Matha is located at Khambakul of Sangrampur village under Balikuda block of Jagatsinghpur district.

Around hundred members of the groups protested in front of the Odisha Endowment Commissioner office here. Talking to Odisha News Insight (ONI), the members have said that the powerful vested anti-socials are at the helm of controversy and trying to capture the land of the Matha in collusion with the officials of Endowment Commissioner, Odisha.

Talking to ONI, Swamprabha Sahu, a member of Civil Society Groups and woman activist, said that “We had gone there Matha there in Jagasinghpur during our visit we come across some liquor bottlers inside the premises of Matha. As per our reports, Matha had 800 acres of land, but now the Baba is showing account of only 100 acres of land, not answering about the remaining 700 acres of land”.  She said that the Endowment commission should investigate into the irregularities before the scheduled date of inquiry.

They demanded high level inquiry into the mismanagement of Matha as per the director of the Orissa High Court on Dated 18 December 2014. They also demanded to constitute an effective transparent management committee involving villagers for the management of Matha and protect the sanctity, sanctum of Nrusinghanath Jew Matha .
