Classes resume at Ravenshaw University from Today

Cuttack, Oct 28: After a gap of 14 days, classes resumed at Ravenshaw University on Wednesday. The authorities of the university had imposed sine die on October 14 following post-poll violence in the campus. They decided to reopen the university from Wednesday,

Notably, tension was prevailed at the campus during the students’ union elections following violent and bombing incidents. The authorities had imposed sine die after these incidents reported inside the campus.

Prior to the elections, the violent incident were occurred during the immersion of lord Ganesh idol. In which, four students of the campus were attacked on September 27 night. Demanding action over the issues students had gheraoed the office of Vice Chancellor and damaged his car.

The university authorities have decided to impose strict rules inside the campus to maintain peace. As per the sources, students need to show their identity cards at the main gate. Similarly, boarders need to show their ID cards at the hostel entries to enter into their respective hostels.
