CCTV Surveillance System launched in Bhubaneswar

CM inaugurating CCTV Monitoring CentreChief Minister Naveen Patnaik inaugurated closed-circuit television (CCTV) based surveillance system at Commissionerate Police office today in Bhubaneswar. Commissionerate Police has started installing CCTV cameras across the city to ensure safety and to check the criminal activities.

Chief Minister said that installation of CCTV will help in ensuring the safety of the citizens. A total of 114 CCTV cameras have been installed at 28 locations in the first phase and more 65 CCTV would be added in the second phase in Bhubaneswar city. Monitoring screens have been installed at the offices of the Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Traffic DCP.

Police Commissioner Rajendra Prasad Sharma said that CCTV installation would help to check the crime in the capital city and the footage from the CCTV would be very useful for investigation. And, these will help to enhance traffic mechanism in the city. At the inaugural function, Chief Minister conferred prizes to police personnel for their outstanding contribution at the Commissionerate Office.
