CM reviews Flood Situation in Odisha; NDRF, ODRAF Teams at Work

Odisha-FloodsOdisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has reviewed the flood situation in Odisha, which has arisen due to incessant rainfall across the state. Balasore and Mayurbhanj are worst affected, as rivers Brahmani, Baitarani, Budhabalanga & Subarnarekha are in spate.

While the NDRF team has already reached Balasore and will be spread over the district as well as Mayurbhanj, the CM has directed the administration to send ODRAF team to Jajpur, where situation may go from bad to worse. Keonjhar is also badly affected. Situation remains grim in Bhadrak district too. As the flood waters were released from Rengali Dam, it could affect two other districts – Dhenkanal and Kendrapara.

At two people from Baliapal were swept away by the flood waters of Subarnarekha. Efforts are on to track them. The water level of Baitarani river is flowing above the danger level at Anandpur and Akhuapada. The road communication between Ghatagaon and Keonjhar has been cut-off after the Katrabeda bypass road on NH-215, was washed away.
