Cold Wave grips Odisha, Kandhamal Freezes

The entire Odisha is reeling under intense cold wave conditions, as Daringbadi recorded minus 2 degrees Celsius. Other parts of Kandhamal district such as Phulbani and Baliguda are witnessing the same situation at 2-3 degrees Celsius. Frost formation was reported from Daringbadi area.

Severe cold conditions prevail in Phulbani, Daringbadi, Khajuripada, Raikia, Baliguda, Kotagarh, Tumudibandha, Mohana and Adaba. Apart from these areas, many other parts in Koraput, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Balangir, Sundargarh, Keonjhar, Sambalpur, Sonepur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, Nabarangpur and Nayagarh districts are witnessing severe cold wave.

The situation may persist till December 28-29, as per the Meteorological department of Odisha. After that, there will be little decline in the mercury level.
