Cold Wave grips Odisha; Bhubaneswar records lowest-ever 8.2 degrees C

ONI Bureau:  Bone-chilling cold wave conditions continue to sweep Odisha with the mercury dropped to 3 degree Celsius in the tourist destination Daringibadi on Sunday, slowing down normal life in the region.

Bhubaneswar recorded 8.2 degrees Celsius – the lowest-ever temperature in December. The previous lowest was 8.6 degree Celsius in 1992.

While the capital city Bhubaneswar shivered at 8.2 degree celcius, Kandhamal recorded temperature of 4.5 degree Celsius followed by Angul at 5.6, Keonjhar 6.4, Bhawanipatna 6.5, Koraput 7.2 and Balasore 7.8 degree celcius today. Cuttack recorded 8.2 degrees C today.

The Meteorological Centre in Bhubaneswar said that the cold wave will continue across the state till January 2.
