Congress, BJP fight for No. 2 Spot using Kunduli Case: BJD

ONI Bureau: The ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) slammed the Congress Party and BJP for holding the state to ransom today to show their political clout. “It was a fight to occupy the No. 2 spot in Odisha,” the party said.

“Soon after the suicide of Kunduli victim, the BJP tried to gain political mileage. However, Congress stepped in to hijack the issue. To stretch the issue further, BJP called for a bandh in undivided Koraput district. But, Congress went a step further to announce a 12-hour Odisha Bandh”.

“Completely outsmarted by the Congress, the BJP had no option but to go for a 12-hour hartal in the state. But, people of Odisha realised the real design of both parties. Common people had to suffer while both parties indulged in fist fight at many places. This is really condemnable,” said the BJD press release.

“Kunduli incident is very unfortunate. Entire Odisha is shocked and devastated. Our Chief Minister has condoled the sad demise of the victim. He had taken adequate steps before and has assured to expedite the probe process to bring the truth out. Under such circumstances, the Odisha Bandh and Hartal observed by Congress and BJD hardly made any sense. It’s ridiculous, inhuman and condemnable,” said BJD.
