Congress Leader Santosh Singh injured in Deadly Attack

Congress leader and former MLA from Kantabanji assembly constituency Santosh Singh Saluja sustained serious injuries in a deadly attack on him near Kantabanji today morning. It is reported that a group of miscreants attacked him and his supporters. Saluja’s condition said to be very critical.

The incident took place at around 10.30 am today. Saluja and his cousin Amarjit and supporters were a visit to a property, which they purchased recently  in village Chatuanka. It is believed that dispute over the property could be the reason of attack, however no official confirmation over the issue.

Without any provocation a group of people attacked Saluja, Amarjit and his supports. After the incident Santosh Singh Saluja was brought to Bolangir district headquarter hospital for treatment. According to hospital sources, the condition of former MLA is said to be stable. His condition is stable and one of his arteries has been cut and after repair we would recommend to shift him to either Burla or Cuttack for further treatment says Bolangir CDMO Dr R.N.Tripathy.Amarjit Singh who sustained injuries on head and other parts was shifted to Raipur for further treatment.

Police have been detained five persons in this connection says Uma Shankar Dash SP Bargarh who is in charge of Bolangir district, to this correspondent over phone.
