Congress Party calls 12-hour Cuttack Bandh, Normal Life disrupted

Cuttack BandhNormal life was thrown out of gear in Cuttack as the Congress party on Friday called a shutdown to press for the fulfillment of a 12-point charter of demands.

The party is protesting against the State Government’s failure in addressing various civic issues in the city such as corruption in the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC), worst condition of the city roads and sanitation facilities,  and other problems faced by citizens.

All Educational Institutions, Government offices, shops and other business establishments remained closed. Vehicles remained off the roads due to the bandh. Even train services were also disrupted for a while as party activists staged a Rail Roko at Cuttack railway station.

Around 20 platoons of police force have been deployed at various places in the city to prevent any untoward situation.
