Couple Attempts Self-Immolation Bid In Front of Odisha Assembly

A couple from Nayagarh district in Odisha attempted a self-immolation bid outside the Odisha State Assembly. Their bid was foiled by the police deployed, who were quick to act.

The couple took the drastic step in frustration after they alleged inaction by the authorities. They alleged that their minor daughter was raped and murder and her decomposed body was found in July.

Despite filing an FIR and taking help of political leaders, they didn’t receive justice.
