COVID-19: CM Naveen Patnaik Urges Police To Enforce Strict Compliance of Safety Protocols

With the country experiencing second wave of COVID-19, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the state police to strictly enforce the COVID safety protocols.

“This new wave of Covid virus spread seems to be more infectious and might create a devastating situation, if we do not take it seriously. We will go for strict enforcement of Covid norms at institutional and individual level. I appeal to all the people of Odisha to be alert and follow the norms and please cooperate with the enforcement machinery.”

On Tuesday, the Chief Minister conducted a review meeting with senior officials of the government and the district administration.

The Chief Minister has asked the Chief Secretary and other health officials to visit places close to the Chhattisgarh border and assess the situation there. Cases in the neighboring state of Chhattissgarh have been rising rapidly, causing concern to the border areas of the state.

The Health department has been asked to re-deploy doctors and paramedics in the Western district to ensure no shortage of medical facilities in the area.
