Crime Branch to move SC against Hi-Tech Builders

Tirupati-PanigrahiIn a major jolt to H Hi-Tech Group Managing Director Tirpuati Panigrahi, the Supreme Court refused to extend the deadline to refund the money in land duping case. Soon after Tirupati Panigrahi’s application was rejected, the Odisha Crime Branch has hinted that it would move the apex court, seeking cancellation of his conditional bail.

Tirupati Panigrahi and two other Directors Tirupati Choudhury and Madusudhan Panigrahi were granted conditional bail in February 2014 in connection with the sensational land fraud case, after they deposited Rs 10 crore and promised to refund the remaining Rs 53.5 crore within three months.

Despite getting enough time, the Hi-Tech builders failed to deposit the total money. They had deposited only Rs 10 crore during the last 9 months. The Hi-Tech Group directors were arrested by the Economic Offence Wing (EOW) of the state Crime Branch on December 25, 2012 and granted bail only on February 21, 2014.
