CRPF DG Prakash Mishra to review Maoist Ops in Odisha

Prakash-MishraCRPF DG Prakash Mishra, who also holds the additional charge of ITBP DG, is on his first visit to Odisha after taking over. He will review the Maoist operations in Odisha today and hold discussion with senior officials.

Prakash Mishra will visit the Maoist-invested areas in the cut-off region in Malkangiri, Rayagada and Koraput districts. Recently, a joint operation by the SOG of Odisha Police and Andhra Pradesh Greyhound force, had resulted in the death of a few Maoists although no dead bodies could be retrieved.

As the CRPF plays a key role in the anti-Maoist operations in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Andhra Pradesh, Prakash Mishra is on a mission to revisit the strategy of his forces and provide a strong counter to the Maoist menace.

In an exclusive interview to The News Insight, an English Weekly from Bhubanewar, Prakash Mishra had stated, “We will revisit our strategy that includes every aspect like deployment pattern, proper training, morale boosting, regular briefing and debriefing, proper adaptation with the area and the people as also bringing in modernisation in the Force, amongst other things”.
