Cuttack-Angul NH Expansion to boost Industrial Growth: Pradhan

Pradhan-OdishaBhubaneswar/New Delhi, Sep 23: Union Cabinet has approved for expansion of the 112 Km Cuttack–Angul road into four lanes of National Highway NH -42 in the State of Odisha under the National Highways Development Project (NHDP) Phase III at an estimated cost of Rs. 1575.38 Crore.

Union Petroleum Minister DharmendraPradhan has thanked Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Cabinet, esp. Hon’ble Cabinet Minister for Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari for taking this long awaited decision.

Pradhan said that the project will give a major boost to connectivity in the industrial belt and also help in reducing the time and cost of travel for people and commercial activities plying between Cuttack and Angul. Development of this stretch will also help uplift the socio-economic condition and trade scenario in this region of Odisha. It will also increase employment potential for local youth for project activities.
