CWG 2018: Odisha’s Amit Rohidas selected in Hockey India squad

ONI Bureau:  Hockey India on Tuesday named the 18-member Indian Men’s Hockey Team which will represent India at the Gold Coast 2018 XXI Commonwealth Games to begin on April 4 in Australia.

While, Manpreet Singh will lead Indian men’s hockey team in Commonwealth Games, Odisha’s Amit Rohidas is the lone Odia player has been selected in Indian Men’s Hockey team for Gold Coast Commonwealth Games.

Amit Rohidas, a native of Saunamara village in Sundergarh district was selected in the national junior team in 2009 and in the senior squad for the Asia Cup-2013.

As per report, the Indian team is grouped in Pool B along with Pakistan, Malaysia, Wales, England and will begin their campaign on April 7 against Pakistan.
