Cyber Forensic Division to come up in Odisha by March 2017

In view of rising cyber crime cases in Odisha, State Crime Branch would set up a Cyber Forensic Division at the State Forensic Science Laboratory (SFSL) by March next year. Besides, one more cyber crime police station will also be established in Bhubaneswar. This was informed by the Crime Branch Special DGP BK Sharma today.

Inaugurating the State-level special training programme on cyber crime in Cuttack today, BK Sharma said, a Cyber Crime Division would be set up at Crime Branch headquarters in Cuttack.

Around 70 Senior police officers of 36 police districts including various nationalised and private bank officials attended the meeting today.

Briefing media persons Sharma said, the facility would help accelerate the cyber forensic examination process in the state and will curb the possible online fraud due to cashless transaction, excess use of card, e-banking and mobile banking.
