Cyclone ‘Fani’ Update; ‘Yellow Warning’ Issued For Odisha

Termed as extremely severe cyclonic storm, Fani is advancing towards the Odisha coast. As the cyclone strengthens the India Meteorological Department (IMD) sounded red and orange and yellow alert for south, east and north coastal districts and the adjoining area.

The following districts are on alert:
Orange warning for Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Rayagada and Kandhamal districts on May 2.

Red alert for Gajapati, Ganjam, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore, Kandhamal, Rayagada, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on May 3.

Yellow warning for Boudh, Kalahandi, Sambalpur, Deogarh and Sundargarh districts on May 3.

Red alert for Jajpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts on May 4.

Orange alert for Cuttack, Dhenkanal and Angul districts on May.
