Cyclone Titli: House swept away by Flood Waters; 6 missing in Ganjam

ONI Bureau: At least 6 people, including four from a family, went missing after their Indira Awas house got swept away by flood waters of Adangi river, triggered by Cyclone Titli. The incident occurred at Bhutapankal village under Gajalbadi panchayat of Sorada block in Ganjam district.

Ganjam Collector Amruta Kulange has directed the officials to intensify rescue operations to trace the missing people as part of CM Naveen Patnaik’s mission to ensure ‘Zero Casualty’ during Cyclone Titli. The rescue operation are affected due to inclement weather and heavy rains.

Rushikulya, Bahuda and various others rivers are in spate, due to incessant rains in Ganjam district before and aftermath Cyclone Titli.

Latest Update: One of the 6 missing people, was found dead. Efforts are on to trace 5 others.
