Cyclone Titli to turn into Severe Cyclonic Storm in 24 Hours

ONI Bureau: Cyclone Titli to turn into a severe cyclonic storm in the next 24 hours, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said today.

Wind speed will be 45-55 kmph to 65 kmph along & off Odisha coast by today afternoon; likely to increase to 100-125 kmph from 10th October evening. Sea condition will be rough to very rough during 9-11 October.

Cyclone Titli now stationed at 530km away from Gopalpur, Ganjam; to make landfall in the morning of October 11.

NDRF teams have been sent to Ganjam, Puri, Kendrapara, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Nayagarh, Bhadrak, Jajpur to deal with possible flood situation.

The cyclonic storm would cross Odisha & adjoining north Andhra Pradesh coasts between Gopalpur & Kalingapatnam around 11th October morning.

Under the impact of cyclonic storm, heavy to very heavy rainfall is also likely to lash in several coastal districts in the State from tomorrow. Several trees, phone lines may be uprooted, communication will be disrupted and thatched houses may be damaged under the impact.
