Cyclone Titli Update: 3 lakh People evacuated in Odisha

ONI Bureau: Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik held a series of review meetings while keeping a tab on the movement of Cyclone Titli, which is all set to make a landfall between Gopalpur and Kalingapatnam between 4 AM and 8 AM tomorrow morning.

The wind speed is expected to reach 165 kmph during the landfall, causing some damages although it’s less severe than previous cyclones – Phailin and Hudhud.

Key Updates:

* 3 lakh people have been evacuated so far from vulnerable areas. More will be shifted to safer locations tonight.

* 215 fishing boats rescued by the Coast Guard in the Bay of Bengal. Efforts on to locate strayed boats if any.

* Focus on ‘zero casualty’. NDRF & ODRAF teams are on alert. Medical Teams are ready to deal with any kind of situation.

* Great Danger signal hoisted at 4 Ports – Puri, Gopalpur (GD Signal 10) & Paradip, Chandbali, (GD Signal 9).
