Cyclonic Storm ‘Kyant’ moving towards Odisha, Heavy Rains likely

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Sunday announced that Odisha is likely to experience heavy rains during next 24 hours due to the Cyclonic Storm ‘Kyant’ that formed over the Bay of Bengal.

The cyclone of high-intensity is likely to hit northern Odisha coast on October 27-28.

The cyclone may recurve to Myanmar coast on Monday and it would move towards northwest Bay of Bengal. The impact of the storm in Odisha will be known around October 26-27.

The depression would blow between 90 km and 110 km per hour.

While the storm warning signals were hoisted more in Coastal Belt of Odisha, fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea and farmers were requested to shift their harvested paddy plants to safety place.
