Dama Rout apologises for ‘beggar’ remarks on Brahmins

ONI Bureau:  State Agriculture Minister and senior BJD leader Damodar Rout once again landed in controversy for his ‘beggar’ remarks on Brahmins.

While attending a function in Malkangiri, earlier he said that tribals never ask for begging but Brahmins beg for alms, if situation arises. The statement has triggered strong dissatisfaction among the Brahmin communities.

However, the Minister posted a video on his Facebook page saying, apologised for hurting sentiments of Brahmins and he never intended to comment or insult Brahmins.
