Dama Rout rules out compensation for Farmers torching Paddy Field

Insight Bureau:  Odisha Agriculture Minister Damodar Rout on Saturday announced that all Farmers who torched their pest-affected crops, including late Brunda Sahu, won’t get any compensation.

Farmer Brunda Sahu was “provoked” to consume pesticide, claimed Agriculture Minister Dr. Damodar Rout, while calling for a probe.

However, the Minister announced that the farmers who have seen damage of 33% of total crops, will be eligible for compensation.
