Damodar Rout’s flip-flop Continues

ONI Bureau: Expelled BJD leader and former Minister Dr. Damodar Rout continued with his flip-flop even as he announced a new party today. He named it as Biju Samatakranti Dal (BSD), a renamed version of Braja Kishore Tripathy, who was also present at the press meet today.

Braja Kishore Tripathy would remain the President of the new party, while Damodar Rout will head the Campaign Committee. It’s not immediately know who else would join the party. Former BJD and OJM leader Jagneswar Babu who is the part of the core team, was also present at the press meet.

Earlier last night, Damodar Rout had named his new party as ‘Biju Kranti Dal’ on Facebook, but edited it in the morning to ‘Biju Samatakranti Dal’.

During the press meet, Dr. Damodar Rout announced that former Odisha DGP Prakash Mishra along with his elder brother and Retd. Bureaucrat Prasanna Mishra, would join Biju Samatakranti Dal soon. That triggered a huge political debate. However, within a few minutes, Prakash Mishra refuted Damodar Rout’s claims and said he has not yet decided whether to join politics or not.

Prakash Mishra made it clear that nobody had contacted him on this matter. It’s weird to see that Dr. Rout is giving statements without consulting people. Same happened earlier, when he named former MP Baijayant Panda as part of his new party, but got snubbed later. Damodar Rout also courted controversy when he said a lot of negative things against Jay Panda in a private interaction, which went viral on social media. He drew flak for talking against a person who stood by him in the hours of crisis.
