Decks cleared for Aparajita as Prithviraj to contest polls from Chilika

ONI Bureau: Decks have been cleared for former Bureaucrat Aparajita Sarangi who is tipped to be party’s candidate for Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat, as BJP’s State General Secretary Prithviraj Harichandan, who contested the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from the city, has decided to fight the assembly polls from Chilika.

It was revealed by veteran BJP leader, former Minister and Prithviraj Harichandan’s father Biswabhusan Harichandan. Biswabhusan had won from Chilika in 1977 (Janata Party) and 1990 (Janata Dal). He later shifted to Bhubaneswar. His brother Bibhuti Bhushan Harichandan won from Chilika in 2000 and 2004 on BJP ticket.

Earlier, it was speculated that Aparajita would contest the Lok Sabha polls from Bhubaneswar, but there was no word on the fate of Prithviraj Harichandan. As he is shifting to Chilika, there is hardly any doubt left that the former Bureaucrat will lead the charge in the Capital City.
