Deep Depression to trigger Heavy Rainfall in Odisha

Odisha is likely to receive heavy rains coupled with gusty surface wind in the next 24 hours under the influence of a deep depression over Bangladesh on Wednesday, the Meteorological centre in Bhubaneswar said.

Under its impact, rain or thundershower is likely to occur at most places over north Odisha and south Odisha during the next 24 hours. Besides, heavy to heavy rainfall will occur at one or two places over the northern districts.

Gusty surface wind from westerly direction with speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph and gusting up to 70 kmph may prevail along and off the Odisha coast.

According to Met office sources, Sea condition would be very rough in Odisha coast. Fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea coast as the tidal waves likely to rise to a height up to 3-4 meters.
