Dengue increases to 162 in Keonjhar, 24 affected in Cuttack

DengueThe dengue scare is rise in Barbil area of Keonjhar district. Around 162 people tested positive as the deadly virus was detected in the blood samples, but no death has been reported so far.

The number of dengue affected cases in Cuttack has also increased to 24 in past 12 hours. The number of beds for dengue patients may increase in SCB Medical College and Hospital as per the situation.

If the number of patient increases, SCB is ready to tackle the situation with a 30 bed special ward for the affected people, said Bhubanananda Maharana, SCB Emergency Officer.

Special wards have been opened at Barbil Community Health Centre (CHC) and SCB Medical College for the treatment of the dengue affected persons and Health experts from various places like Cuttack, Bhubaneswar and Sambalpur have rushed the affected areas to treat dengue patients, revealed by Health and Family Welfare Minister Atanu Sabyasachi Nayak.
