Depression to trigger Heavy Rainfall in Odisha in next 24 hours

heavy rainfallOdisha is likely to receive heavy rains in the next 24 hours under the influence of a deep depression over Bay of Bengal.

Talking to the news-persons, the Director of Regional Meteorological Centre Dr Sarat Chandra Sahu said, the low pressure has centered over northwest Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood yesterday and has formed into a deep depression.

Under its impact, rain or thundershower is likely to occur at most places over north Odisha and south Odisha during the next 24 hours. Besides, heavy to heavy rainfall will occur at one or two places over the northern districts in the state.

Sea condition would be very rough in Odisha coast. Fishermen have been asked not to venture into the sea coast as surface of the wind speed will be reaching up to 45-55 kmph with a maximum of 65 kmph and the tidal waves may rise to a height up to 3-4 meters.
