Devotees prohibited from touching the deities during ‘Snana Purnima’, says SJTA

Snana PurnimaSri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) on Monday made a decision that devotees prohibited from touching the deities during the occasion ‘Snana Purnima’ rituals of Lord Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra which is scheduled on June 20.

A meeting held with Daitapati Nijoga chaired by the Chief Administrator of SJTA Suresh Chandra Mohapatra Collector Arvind Agrawal and Sarthak Sarangi superintendent of police (SP) here.

During the meeting servitors put their demand before the administration that devotees be permitted to touch the ‘Snana Mandap’.

Mohapatra said that during Snana Purnima rituals the devotees would not be allowed to touch the deities but near from the barricades devotees will be allowed for darshan the Lords.
