Devotees throng Puri Srimandir on occasion of ‘Panchuka’

ONI Bureau:  Lakhs of devotees thronged Puri Srimandir on Monday to have darshan of deities on the occasion of  ‘Panchuka’ (last five days of holy Odia month of Kartik).

During these five days large number of devotees came to Puri and visit Lord Jagannath Temple daily as Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Goddess Subhadra and Lord Sudarshana are dressed in five different Veshas each day during Panchuka.

Security has been tightened by the district administration in Puri in view of Panchuka and Kartika Purnima.

As many as 15 platoons of police force deployed for Panchuka from November 18 till 22 in and around the 12th century shrine.
