DGP issues advisory to SPs to stop Viral Video menace

Insight Bureau:  Police DG Rajendra Prasad Sharma on Wednesday issued advisory for SPs to check circulation of viral photos/videos on Social Media.

Sharma instructed SPs to create awareness among people that as a public responsibility if anyone get viral pictures and videos not to share in any other group and immediately inform to police. If anybody violates the law may get imprisonment of 1 to 5 years.

Sharma requested all educational institutions, governmental officials and common people for not taking and sharing any objectionable pictures and videos in any of social media platforms.

Meantime Media persons are also requested not to publish objectionable viral pictures and videos and not to disclose identity of the victim and their family.
