Dhalasamanta Brothers’ Political Link: Dharmendra Pradhan in Trouble

The arrest of hardcore criminals Dhalasamanta Brothers in Cuttack, has opened a Pandora’s box with their political links coming to limelight. While they have links with leaders from various political parties, Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, who has emerged as BJP’s unofficial CM face, landed in trouble for endorsing them at a function.

The local TV channels in Odisha, have come up with photos of political leaders from BJP, Congress and BJD with Sushil Dhalasamanta, who is also the President of Cuttack Nagar Yuvak Sangha. Mr. Pradhan and many other leaders attended a blood donation camp organised by Sushil.

The BJP, which questioned CM Naveen Patnaik and many other Ministers on the basis of their photographs with Seashore Group Directors and other criminals, are leaving no stones unturned to defend the indefensible. They also argue that Dharmendra was not aware of Sushil Dhalasamanta’s credentials whereas people of Cuttack are well aware of their activities.

Former Odisha Minister Sameer Dey, who hailed from Cuttack, too attended the event and felicitated Dhalasamanta. Some BJP leaders go to the extent of saying that Sushil is not a convict yet! It is believed that BJD MLA Debasish Samantaray is closely associated with the criminal brothers, who are facing charges of murder, extortion, abduction etc.

Meanwhile, the cops seized Rs 2 crore cash, 2 Audi cars, 3 Mercedes cars, etc. from Dhalasamanta’s residence. Their armoury at CDA house was busted with the seizure of 4 mousers, a double barrel gun with 20 rounds of bullets, 127 rounds of bullets and a carbine.
