ONI Bureau: Union P&NG Minister Dharmendra Pradhan in the presence of Union Tribal Affairs Minister Jual Oram and Rajya Sabha MP and Hockey Veteran Dilip Tirkey, felicitated all 86 Odia players who participated at the Khelo India School Games – a pet project of PM Modi to discover hidden talent of Indian Sports.
Dharmendra wished everyone good luck and expressed confidence that some of these players would get a chance to play at the Olympics some day and bring laurel to the state as well as the country.
Dharmendra hailed the players from Odisha, saying most of them come from tribal-dominated Sundargarh district. “The poor, tribal kids have showcased their talent, which is praiseworthy,” he said.
Odisha won 2 Gold Medals, 1 Silver and 2 Bronze Medals at the Khelo India Games. “It’s a spirited performance by Odia players”, Pradhan commented.
