Dharmendra Pradhan and Victims of MCL’s Mining activities meet Union Coal Minister

A delegation of villagers of Kumanda G.P (Angul, Odisha) with the Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan met Coal Minister Piyush Goyal in New Delhi.

The delegation had submitted a memorandum regarding various issues and problems faced by them due to mining activities by Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) near their villages.

The Coal Minister assured the villagers to provide immediate relief by making provision for potable water as well as water for irrigation and to protect from the dust released by MCL to control with the help of latest technologies.

He further assured the villagers that if sufficient coal is available in the area then these villages can be acquired as per prevailing laws.
