Dharmendra Pradhan hails PM, Railway Minister for High Allocation to Odisha

Union Petroleum Minister Dharmendra Pradhan hails Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu for allocating of Rs. 4,682 Crore to Odisha in the Rail Budget. Union Minister Pradhan congratulates Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu for a pro-poor, consumer oriented, women-centric & investment driven Railway Budget 2016. 

Investments have been earmarked for providing better passenger amenities, creation of Dedicated Freight Corridors and expansion of rail network throughout the Country with focus on Eastern, North-Eastern India and J&K without increasing rail fare.

“On behalf of the People of Odisha, my gratitude to the Hon’ble PM and the Railway Minister for the allocation of Rs. 5000 Crore to Odisha (highest ever Rail Budget Allocation to the state of Odisha) in the Rail Budget. This will greatly contribute to economic development, create employment opportunities & provide additional passenger amenities in Odisha.

The allocation will give a fillip to development of Rail Network in tribal dominated southern & western parts of Odisha. Express my gratitude to the Hon’ble PM & Hon’ble Railway Minister for including Puri in the priority list of Pilgrimage Centres where passenger amenities will be improved and beautification of stations will be undertaken,” said Minister Pradhan.
