Dharmendra Pradhan launches PMMY Mega Campaign in Odisha

Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan, has launched a mega campaign at Berhampur in Odisha for the disbursement of loans to small entrepreneurs under the Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY).

The campaign, which launched today, will continue till October 2, 2015. “Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana (PMMY) will free small and poor entrepreneurs from burden of extremely high interest rates charged on them by moneylenders,” said Mr. Pradhan.

Dharmendra Pradhan handed over allotment letters from Banks to beneficiaries under the PMMY. He also interacted with the beneficiaries and listened to them. The small entrepreneurs can now avail loan with Re 1 interest per month. Mr. Pradhan hailed PM Narendra Modi for conceiving such a great idea and putting it into action.

“The Modi Government is committed for economic empowerment of the poor, needy and all those who were excluded from key schemes. Financial inclusion through MUDRA Bank will go a long way in ensuring more economic activity in the country,” he said.
