Dharmendra Pradhan thanks Centre for doubling of 3 Rail Tracks in Odisha

Photo Dharmendra PradhanBhubaneswar, Nov 19: Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for approving railroad capacity augmentation in Odisha.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA) approved a project for railroad capacity augmentation between Budhapank and Salegaon via Rajathgarh railway line located in Odisha at a total cost of Rs.1,172.92 crore and the doubling of three railway lines totalling 464.06 km at a cost of Rs.7,178.40 crore.

The Minister said that the doubling of the railway lines – Kottavalasa-Koraput,  Koraput-Singapur Road rail section and Jagdalpur-Koraput railway – would strengthen railways network in the states of Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

He added that approving 3rd and 4th railway lines of 85 km between between Budhapank and Salegaon via Rajathgarh railway would strengthen the network in Angul, Dhenkanal and Cuttack districts.

These projects would be completed between 4 to 7 years  with an outlay of around Rs.8,000 crore, he said, the strengthening of railway network in Odisha would strengthen the state’s economy.
