Dharmendra Pradhan thanks PM Modi for upgradation of GMC Cuttack

Dharmendra PradhanThe Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has approved upgradation of 13 existing Government Medical Colleges / Institutes (GMCIs) under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

The Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan thanked to the Prime Minister and Cabinet for the approval of Economic Affairs (CCEA) for upgradation of Government Medical College(GMC), Cuttack at a cost of Rs. 200 Crore under PMSSY.

Out of Rs. 200 crore, the Central government share will be Rs. 120 crore, while the state government share will be Rs.80 crore. The upgradation of GMC, Cuttack broadly involves strengthening of the existing departments as well as building Super Speciality Blocks/Trauma Centre & other necessary facilities as centre of excellence.

This will bridge the gaps of tertiary healthcare infrastructure in Odisha as well as improve facilities for quality medical education.
