Dharmendra Pradhan visits JE-affected Malkangiri Dist today

The five-member BJP team led by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Dharmendra Pradhan including senior party leaders Basant Panda, KV Singhdeo and Bhrugu Baxipatra on Monday visited Malkangiri district to assess the Japanese Encephalitis (JE) menace.

Dharmendra Pradhan led team visited Palkonda village, Dariguda village,  the worst affected areas of Japanese Encephalitis in the district.

Pradhan interacted with villagers & families whose children suffered from Japanese Encephalitis. The Minister also discussed with Sarpanch, Zila parishad member to find out the ground reality of the JE.

Meantime, the Union Minister visited Anganwadi centre, Asha karmis, Anganwadi workers, doctors & all health workers engaged in health management.

The team will submit the survey report to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding the problems of the villagers in issues especially related to health, sanitation and drinking water. The Centre will take strong action according to the report.

Notably, the death toll due to Japanese Encephalitis in Malkangiri district rose to 108 today.
