Dhauli Shanti Stupa celebrates 45th Foundation Day

Insight News Desk: The 45th Foundation Day of Dhauli Shanti Stupa was celebrated by Kalinga Nippon Buddha Sangha in the presence of monks from Japan, America, England, Thailand, Nepal, Shillong etc.

The event was attended by Lok Sabha MP Dr. Prasanna Patasani, KIIT & KISS Founder Dr. Achyuta Samanta and Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty. On this occasion, a book entitled “Dhauli – Past and Present” authored by Dr. Bimalendu Mohanty was released by the dignitaries.

The Dhauli Shanti Stupa with a piece of Budha’s bone, was installed on 18th October, 1972 by then Chief Minister of Odisha Smt. Nandini Satapathy. The Shanti Stupa construction was started on 25th Aug 1971 and completed on 8th Nov 1972.
