Dhenkanal BJD Youth President Jasobant Parida Shot Dead

ONI Bureau: in a shocking development this morning, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Youth Wing Dhenkanal District President Jasobant Parida Shot dead by 4 miscreants near Gandhi Temple in Kamakhyanagar.

The miscreants overtook him in a Bolero and then fired at least 8-10 rounds at him in addition to hurling bombs. He was being rushed to SCB Medical College & Hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition, but succumbed to the injuries before anything could be done.

Earlier in January 2014, Jasobant was fired upon by a miscreant, who was caught by the locals.

Reports suggest business (mining/sand) rivalry could be behind the killing. Jasobant was said to be a trusted aide of Mines Minister Prafulla Mallick.
