Bhubaneswar, Oct 10: Dilip Ray, BJP MLA from Rourkela, has written a letter to Odisha Chief Secretary G C Pati over the delay in the implementation of development projects of regulated market committee at Panposh in Rourkela.
Expressing his concern over the stalemate of the projects, he urged the chief secretary for necessary action.
The BJP MLA said that “Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik laid the foundation stone on 23 February 2014, for the establishment of Ultra modern wholesale market yard at Balughat, Panposh in Rourkela for facilitating the local farmers, traders and for the betterment of the Rourkela Traffic and sanctioned a sum of Rs. 98.45 crore”.
He mentioned in the letter that, several development projects such as construction of 50 Ultra modern stalls and godown for paddy procurement equipment etc. at Vedavyas market yard have been approved. And, for initiation of construction of the said projects, elected members of RMC, Panposh have made a resolution, requesting the Deputy Secretary of Co-operative Department of Odisha government as well as General Manager of OSAM Board, Bhubaneswar.
But, no steps have been taken yet, resulting in unprecedented delay in the implementation of the projects, which halted the progress of Rourkela at a time when the city has been listed under the Centre’s ambitious ‘Smart City’ project, he said.
