Don’t mock the Farmers: Dharmendra to Damodar Rout

Insight Bureau: Union P&NG and SD&E Minister Dharmendra Pradhan slammed Odisha Agriculture Minister Dr. Damodar Rout, calling his remarks on farmer Brunda Sahu ‘insensitive’ and ‘unwarranted’.

“The Minister should have shown sympathy if not any support. It’s an irony that Dr. Rout insulted Brunda Sahu, calling him a BJP man after his shocking suicide. He is a farmer and the state government has a responsibility towards all farmers in the state”, he said.

“Although Brunda Sahu had not taken any crop loans from banks, he had taken hand loans for farming. Why the Agriculture Minister is making mockery of a farmer’s suicide”, he asked.

Dr. Rout hit back, challenging Dharmendra to prove why Brunda Sahu had committed suicide. He further added that the Odisha Govt is doing everything possible for the farmers and will continue to do that.
