EOW arrested three including an OAS Officer in Bank Fraud Case

Crime BranchBhubaneswar, Jan 14: The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Odisha Crime Branch police arrested three people including an Odisha Administrative Services Officer (OAS) on Wednesday in loan fraud case.

As per reports, EOW officers arrested an OAS Office and two former mangers of Bhubaneswar Urban Co-operative Bank. They were reportedly involved in loan fraud to the tune of Rs.30 crore,  out of the total amount, Rs.18 crore yet to be recovered by the bank officials.

They reportedly provided loans to people without proper documentations, as police charged while investigating into the scam at the co-operative bank.

The arrested officers were identified as – OAS Officer Bharat Bhusan Jagdev, former managers – Shantanu Mohanty and Udayanath Sahu.

Taking serious note over the scam in the co-operative bank, state government had directed EOW to investigate into the case in 2015.
