As we know, Bhubaneswar secured the No. 1 spot in the list of proposed smart cities project released by the government. In total, 20 cities will be developed as Smart Cities in the first phase.

* Bhubaneswar Town Centre District has been chosen to be developed as ‘Smart District’.

* In total, 985 acres of area come under this project.

* The key areas that come under Smart City Project: Janpath Road (East), Udyan Marg (South), Railway Tracks (West), and Maharishi College Road (North).

* Key City Landmarks: Ashoka Market, Master Canteen Chowk, Bhubaneswar Railway Station, City Bus Terminal, Ram Mandir, Rajmahal Chowk and its immediate surroundings.
